A Chinese producer has surfaced with a fresh offer for PVC carbide resin (SG5 grade) at USD 670 per tonne on an August 2025 CFR Chattogram basis, according to a Polymerduniya market contact in Bangladesh..
The SG5 grade, characterized by a K value of 66–68, is widely used for durable pipe and rigid vinyl products in the PVC market. While the price is at the lower end of typical FOB China SG5 offers (which range from USD 700–780/t), Bangladesh buyers will evaluate this offer based on factors such as logistics, material specifications, and supplier reliability.
Market participants note that Bangladesh sources most of its PVC resin from China, Taiwan, and Thailand, with China representing a significant share of the total 4,500 resin import shipments reported this year.
As PVC demand remains cost-sensitive and competitive, the offer at USD 670/t may attract interest from importers seeking competitive sourcing, but terms such as lead time, quality parameters, and supply assurance will heavily influence buyer uptake.
