On Thursday, U.S. propylene markets held steady, with no significant activity to shift pricing. According to a Polymerduniya industry source speaking on condition of anonymity, “Spot prices remained flat amid no bids or offers heard,” underscoring the caution and inactivity characterizing current trading conditions.
Specifically, polymer-grade delivered propylene was assessed at 31.50–32.00 cents/lb FD U.S. Gulf, reflecting no change from Wednesday’s levels. Similarly, refinery-grade delivered propylene held firm at 30.50–31.00 cents/lb FD U.S. Gulf, with no movement week on week.
This flat pricing atmosphere points to a market in waiting, buyers and sellers alike are holding back, possibly watching for shifts in downstream demand or feedstock costs to provide fresh impetus.
