A Polymerduniya source in China has shared that a Saudi Arabian producer is reportedly offering Linear Low-Density Polyethylene (LLDPE) in the highly specialized film grade for wire and cable applications at approximately USD 950 per metric ton on a CFR basis into China’s main ports, targeting September 2025 shipments.
This offer arrives at a pivotal juncture for Asia’s LLDPE market, coinciding with seasonal shifts in demand and continued global oversupply. Back in April, Middle Eastern suppliers were offering LLDPE film grades into China at USD 910–950/mt CFR, already seen as competitive amid soft pricing trends. The newer USD 950/mt level pushes the higher end of the range, signaling strategic positioning ahead of expected end-of-quarter restocking.
Buyers in China are closely watching such offers, especially given the thin margins and caution prevalent among downstream converters. With weak downstream demand still prevailing, many are likely to continue holding off on large commitments unless prices soften further or supply tightens.
