Ningbo Kingfa Advanced to Shut Zhejiang PDH Unit for September Maintenance

Ningbo Kingfa Advanced is preparing to shut down its propane dehydrogenation (PDH) unit located in Zhejiang province, China, for a planned maintenance program. According to information shared by a market source, the unit is expected to be taken offline around September 9, 2025, with operations likely to remain suspended until the end of the month. At present, the details have not been officially confirmed by an authorized company representative, though industry participants indicate that the maintenance schedule has been in planning for some time.

The PDH facility, with a propylene production capacity of 600,000 metric tons per year, is one of the major contributors to China’s growing propylene supply chain. Its temporary closure could have implications for regional propylene availability, particularly as downstream demand from polypropylene and other derivatives continues to hold steady. Market watchers suggest that the shutdown may provide some upward support to propylene prices in the near term, as buyers adjust procurement strategies to account for tighter supply. The planned restart by the end of September will be closely monitored, as its timing could influence both domestic and regional market sentiment heading into the fourth quarter.
