Sino-Korean Petrochemical has temporarily taken offline its high-density polyethylene (HDPE) unit in China, according to market sources.
Industry participants reported that the company halted operations at the facility around September 5, 2025, citing maintenance work. While the exact duration of the outage has not been disclosed, the shutdown has stirred speculation among traders and buyers in the region, given the strategic importance of the plant’s output.
Located in Hubei province, the HDPE unit has a nameplate capacity of 300,000 metric tons per year, making it one of the key producers serving the domestic market.
