Toyo Engineering Corp. (TOYO), in partnership with Rönesans Endüstri Tesisleri (RET), a subsidiary of Rönesans Holding, the global contracting and investment group headquartered in Türkiye, has been awarded the first phase of a major overhaul project for a large-scale gas chemical complex owned by Turkmenhimiya (TH). TH, the state-owned enterprise overseeing the production and distribution of chemical products in Turkmenistan, is spearheading the initiative as part of its strategy to modernize and expand the country’s gas-processing capabilities.
This award follows the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed in August 2024 between TOYO and TH, which focused on exploring future collaboration opportunities in gas-processing and investment projects. The current contract represents the first concrete step under that agreement, turning discussions into action.
Under the scope of the project, TOYO will handle detailed planning, engineering, and partial procurement of equipment and materials for critical sections of the complex, including the gas separation unit, ethylene production unit, and polypropylene production unit. RET will be tasked with executing the overhaul of the high-density polyethylene production unit and the utility unit, ensuring operational efficiency and reliability.
Turkmenhimiya is expected to award TOYO and RET subsequent phases of the project as part of a broader plan to bring the revamped complex into stable operation. For TOYO, this venture aligns with its long-term vision of contributing to the growth of Turkmenistan’s chemical industry, leveraging its extensive expertise in gas chemical and fertilizer plant construction to support the country’s industrial ambitions.
