Ethylene Prices Hold Firm in US and Asia as Markets Stay Quiet

Ethylene markets showed little sign of life on Tuesday, with prices holding steady on both sides of the Pacific as traders reported muted activity.

In the United States, an industry source told that buying and selling interest remained thin, keeping ethylene values unchanged. Assessments stayed at 20.00–20.50 cents per pound FD US Gulf, the same levels recorded on Monday. The source noted that subdued demand and balanced supply left little room for price movement.

Asian markets mirrored the calm. Ethylene was assessed flat at USD 840–850 per metric ton CFR North East Asia, reflecting a wait-and-see mood among regional players. With no fresh signals from feedstock costs or downstream demand, market participants chose to sit on the sidelines, reinforcing the day’s quiet tone.
