A source in Thailand noted that while the date is likely, the duration of the outage remains uncertain and no formal confirmation has been released.
The plant, situated in the Map Ta Phut petrochemical complex in Rayong, has a capacity of 120,000 metric tons per year, a volume that has been maintained since expanding in 2020. AGC Vinythai has long positioned this ECH unit within its broader polyester-chemical integration at the site.
This anticipated maintenance could ripple into regional epoxy and resin markets, given ECH’s role as a key precursor. Yet because the shutdown is likely to be short and the timeline still tentative, significant supply disruption is not expected, provided operations resume on schedule.
