Prices for ethylene went down last week in both South East Asia and North East Asia. Prices went down because demand in the region was low.
Prices were pushed down even more by slow demand for PE downstream and prices that were going down.
CFR North East Asia ethylene prices were between USD 730 and 740 per metric ton, and CFR South East Asia ethylene prices were between USD 720 and 730 per metric ton. Both prices went down by USD 5 per metric ton from the previous week.
Prices for ethylene shipped from Korea (FOB) stayed steady at USD 690–700 per metric ton.
The price of ethylene in Japan was also thought to be stable at USD 685–695 per metric ton.
