A Polymerduniya source in China, speaking anonymously, revealed this week that a Chinese trader has pitched a new offer for Linear Low-Density Polyethylene (LLDPE) film, sourced from China and priced at USD 930/mt, FOB Ningbo, for August 2025 shipment.
This competitive pricing comes amid a wider market backdrop characterized by oversupply concerns and weakened downstream demand. In fact, offers for LLDPE film from Middle Eastern suppliers were previously observed in the USD 940–970/mt range for April shipments, indicating a rising intensity in price pressure.
The offer from the China-origin trader signals a strategic move to secure export traction in a market still contending with soft consumption and elevated exports from other regions. Stakeholders will be watching closely to see if this price sets a new benchmark or spurs further discounting among global suppliers.
