A Polymerduniya source in China reported that a Chinese producer has put forward an offer for premium bottle-grade PET resin (IV 0.80/0.77/0.83), priced at approximately USD 790/mt FOB for August 2025 shipment.
The offer represents the latest benchmark for Asia-bound PET shipments, matching the lower end of recent price assessments in the region. Earlier in May–June 2025, similar producer offers had ranged from USD 790–815/mt FOB for China-origin bottle-grade PET, before being revised upward to USD 820–825/mt by some suppliers.
The producer has anchored pricing at the USD 790/mt level, possibly indicating a strategic effort to sustain export demand amid uncertain downstream buying sentiment. No transactions were confirmed at this price, and discussions regarding the offer remain ongoing.
This development comes as part of a broader PET market trend: export prices were last assessed at USD 815–825/mt FOB North East Asia, following recent raw material-driven cost increases across MEG, PTA, and PX feedstocks.
