On Monday, ethylene prices rose in Asia, owing primarily to an increase in upstream energy values.
Prices soared as a result of supply difficulties caused by continued Middle Eastern tensions. Meanwhile, raw material shortages have led numerous Asian firms to declare force majeure (FM) and restrict production rates at their operations.
CFR South East Asia ethylene prices were assessed at USD 915-925/mt, representing a USD (+70) increase over last Friday’s levels.
CFR North East Asia ethylene prices were assessed at USD 945-955/mt levels, up by USD (+80) from last Friday.
