Ethylene prices in the European region recorded a noticeable gain on Wednesday, driven by improved regional demand and a rise in upstream naphtha values.
An industry source in Europe, speaking on condition of anonymity, told a Polymerduniya team member, “Prices increased due to better regional demand trends and higher upstream naphtha values in the region.”
CIF NWE ethylene prices were assessed at USD 820-830/mt, reflecting a USD 20/mt increase from Tuesday’s levels. FD NWE prices also moved higher, assessed at Euro 715-725/mt — up by Euro 10/mt on the day.
Meanwhile, in the Asian market, ethylene prices remained stable, with CFR North East Asia levels assessed at USD 815-825/mt, unchanged from Tuesday.
