On Monday, ethylene prices in Europe revealed a mixed undertone. CIF NWE prices slid to USD 850–860/mt, down USD 5/mt from Friday’s levels, as regional demand softened and supplies remained ample. An anonymous industry insider conveyed that weaker demand and abundant availability weighed on pricing. At the same time, FD NWE pricing held steady at €740–750/mt, unchanged from Friday. Market sentiment remained muted, with subdued buying activity reported across the region’s downstream sectors.
In contrast, Asia’s ethylene market remained calm and stable. CFR North East Asia prices were assessed at USD 815–825/mt, mirroring Friday’s range, reflecting a cautious trading atmosphere and low activity levels among market participants.
