Fuhaichuang Petroleum and Petrochemical is poised to resume production at its Orthoxylene (OX) plant in Gulei, after a maintenance-related shutdown. A Polymerduniya source in China confirmed that the facility, offline since late June, is scheduled to restart operations by the end of August 2025.
The Gulei-based OX plant holds an annual production capacity of 240,000 metric tons, positioning it as a meaningful contributor to regional orthoxylene supply.
This planned restart follows a nearly two-month hiatus and signals a return toward normalized production levels. Analysts will likely monitor the market closely in the weeks ahead to assess whether the resumption helps ease tightness in the aromatics complex, where orthoxylene serves as a key feedstock for downstream derivatives such as plasticizers and polyester intermediates.
