GCC PVC Prices Hold Steady Amid Weak Construction Demand and Easing Import Appetite

In the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region, PVC resin prices remained unchanged this week, as confirmed by a regional Polymerduniya source. The Suspension grade PVC was assessed at USD 680–720/mt CFR GCC, matching levels from the previous week.

Market sentiment in the region remains cautious. According to the source, sluggish construction activity and competitive pricing of domestic PVC materials have dampened the need for imports. Purchasers are treading carefully, depending on existing inventory rather than placing new orders—and “import offers for August shipments appeared mostly stable,” yet buying interest continues to be restrained amid uncertainty surrounding demand trends in the construction sector.

Looking ahead, expectations of ample Chinese supply combined with seasonally muted demand through the end of August are exerting downward pressure on sentiment. The potential imposition of anti-dumping duties in India may further shift excess Chinese material toward the Middle Eastern market, potentially intensifying competition and influencing pricing dynamics in the GCC.
