Heilongjiang Longjiang Chemical is preparing to take its Bisphenol A (BPA) plant in Daqing offline for maintenance, according to industry sources.
A Polymerduniya contact in China reported that the company is expected to halt operations around September 9, 2025, to carry out maintenance work. While the planned shutdown has been confirmed by market participants, details regarding the duration of the outage and the scope of the maintenance remain unclear at this stage.
Located in Daqing, Heilongjiang province, the BPA plant has a production capacity of 200,000 mt/year, making it one of the notable contributors to China’s domestic BPA supply. The plant’s temporary closure may lead to short-term tightening in availability, though market players believe that downstream demand conditions will play a key role in determining the overall impact on pricing.
The planned maintenance comes at a time when the Chinese BPA market is facing mixed fundamentals. While downstream polycarbonate producers have been operating steadily, demand recovery across other derivative sectors has been sluggish. Market observers will be closely monitoring the shutdown to gauge its effect on supply balances and to assess whether it could lend upward support to BPA prices in the weeks ahead.
