India’s ONGC looks for joint venture partners for ethane feedstock.

According to a document posted on the company’s website, India’s Oil and Natural Gas Corp is looking for joint venture partners to develop very large ethane carriers (VLECs) to transport feedstock to its petrochemical plant in western India.

ONGC Petro additions Ltd (OPaL), an ONGC affiliate, conducts a dual feed cracker. ONGC intends to procure 800,000 tonnes of ethane per year (tpy) to secure fuel for the plant beginning in May 2028.

According to the statement, ONGC is looking for businesses with experience operating and managing VLECs, very large gas carriers, and liquefied natural gas carriers in the global market.
