Propylene prices in Asia fell on Tuesday of this week.
Prices have dipped marginally due to decreased crude oil prices and sluggish buying attitude in Asian markets.
On Tuesday, China CFR propylene prices ranged between USD815-825 per tonne, down USD5 per tonne from Monday.
Propylene FOB Korea prices were USD780-790 per tonne on Tuesday, down USD5 from Monday.
Wanhua Chemical Group, as previously reported, opened a new cracking unit in Yantai, China, in early April of this year. It was originally planned to launch this cracking unit in the fourth quarter of 2024, but the launch was pushed back to January of this year because raw ingredients were not yet ready. The new cracking plant will have a capacity of 1.2 million tons of ethylene and 700,000 tons of propylene per year, with ethane and naphtha as raw ingredients.
