A Saudi Arabian producer has reportedly announced its offer for metallocene linear low-density polyethylene (mLLDPE) EXCEED grade to Vietnam, according to market sources.
A Polymerduniya contact in Vietnam stated that the offer has been heard at USD 1000/mt, on a cost and freight (CFR) basis to Ho Chi Minh port, for shipment in September 2025. The announcement marks one of the latest price indications from Middle Eastern suppliers into the Vietnamese market, which remains closely watched amid fluctuating demand and cautious buying sentiment.
Market participants noted that while the offer provides clarity for September arrivals, the actual level of buying interest from Vietnamese converters remains uncertain, as procurement decisions are being influenced by broader economic conditions and the availability of alternative cargoes from regional suppliers. Traders added that the competitive dynamics between Middle Eastern and Northeast Asian suppliers could also shape transaction levels in the coming weeks.
The offer comes at a time when the regional polyethylene market is navigating mixed fundamentals, with steady to weak demand across downstream packaging and film applications, while supply conditions remain relatively balanced. Industry players will be monitoring whether the announced levels gain traction in actual deals, or if further adjustments may be made depending on buyer feedback.
