Polymer market watchers in China are reporting a fresh signal from the Middle East that could influence regional trade flows. According to information shared with Polymerduniya, a Saudi Arabian producer has announced an offer for High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) film grade at around USD 910 per metric ton. The material is intended for October 2025 shipment, quoted on a cost-and-freight basis to China’s main ports.
The number lands close to the lower end of current market talk, a sign the supplier may be aiming to lock in volumes before year-end. Chinese buyers are weighing the offer as demand for film-grade HDPE shows steady improvement after a quiet summer.
Because the CFR terms include freight, importers know the full landed cost up front. How other Middle Eastern and Asian producers respond, whether they match or hold firm, will help set the market tone as the fourth quarter of 2025 begins.
