Shandong Qinghe Chemical has suspended operations at its No. 1 polypropylene (PP) unit in Huantai, China, following an unexpected maintenance shutdown on September 12, 2025.
According to a market source in China, the company is “heard to have halted operations” for maintenance, though details on the length of the outage remain uncertain. The source added that no official confirmation had been issued by the company at the time of reporting.
The affected facility, one of the key PP production lines in the region, has an annual production capacity of 150,000 metric tons, making the shutdown a closely watched development for polymer market participants. Traders and downstream manufacturers are monitoring the situation for potential impacts on regional supply and pricing.
