US Producer Floats HDPE Film Grade Offer at USD 860–870/mt for October Shipment to Vietnam

A source in Vietnam has revealed that a US producer is reportedly putting forward an offer for its HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) Film grade in the USD 860-870 per metric ton range. The price is quoted on a CIF Ho Chi Minh Port basis and applies to shipments scheduled for October 2025.

Industry insiders believe this offer reflects both competitive pricing from American producers and cautious demand from Vietnamese buyers. While USD 860-870/mt marks a moderate level compared to past offers, it underscores tightening margins due to rising freight, feedstock, and logistical costs.

Vietnamese converters are said to be studying this offer closely, comparing it to regional shipments from other origins, anticipating how exchange rates and import duties might affect landed cost. With the market halfway to Q4, how aggressively buyers act on such offers may hinge on how global supply tightens, shipping schedules firm up, and demand in the downstream plastics sector picks up.

This US-origin offer may also set expectations for other suppliers entering Vietnam in the October window. If accepted, it could become a benchmark that influences future negotiations for HDPE Film shipments into Southeast Asia.
