Vynova to End PVC Production at Beek Site

Vynova has declared that it will halt PVC production at its Beek plant in the Netherlands in November 2025. This decision was made following a thorough examination of the company’s manufacturing base, which was prompted by economic, regulatory, and market issues.

The Beek facility has been in operation since 1972 and is located in the Chemelot industrial park. It employs roughly 100 workers. Vynova has launched a formal engagement process with the works council and is committed to assisting affected employees through a variety of activities during this transition.

The European PVC market is under tremendous pressure due to global overcapacity, poor demand, and increased competition from nations with lower manufacturing costs and less stringent regulations. These conditions are unlikely to change in the near future, pushing Vynova to take this risky action to boost long-term competitiveness.

The Beek facility has an annual PVC production capacity of 225,000 tons. Vynova’s product line includes several grades of suspension PVC (S-PVC), potassium derivatives such as KOH, caustic soda (NaOH), sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl), and benzyl chloride and its derivatives.
